To sum up everything I’m going to say in a nutshell, it’s a very simple formula that works wonders for people with sensitive skin or who just want to take a break from using products with a lot of active ingredients. It may not appear to be a very effective moisturizer at first glance, but you’d be surprised by how much hydration it actually provides the skin.

I’m still undecided whether I like this or the Sebamed 5% Urea Cream more. (More about this in a bit.) The Sebamed Baby Product deserves some discussion.

About Sebamed Baby Products

  • Sebamed Baby Wash – a tear free formula, the baby wash provides protection from irritation and is 100% soap and alkali free for daily use. Even certain kinds of eczema are advised to use it.
  • Sebamed Children’s Shampoo – offering extra mild cleansing of hair and scalp, naturally moisturising to prevent dryness.
  • Sebamed Baby Cream / Sebamed Baby Lotion – supports the skins natural balance, camomile soothes irritation, and makes the skin soft and smooth.
  • Sebamed Baby Bubble Bath – extra mild cleansing formula, with natural moisturising agents to protect against dryness.
  • Sedbamed Diaper Rash Cream – offering rapid relief, effective and soothing, and contains panthenol to stimulate the healing process.

The packaging of Sebamed products, specifically the Sebamed Baby range is very appealing and there is no mistaking this is a baby product, with it’s white box and pastel pink and blue logo. The product information, ingredients, and usage instructions are all clearly laid out on the box itself. It goes one step further to transform it from a basic baby toiletry to one that is medicated and was created with the express goal of being mild, gentle, and helping to balance restore, and repair delicate skin. Each product also has a leaflet inside explaining more about the company as well as more details regarding ph balance and the full product range.

Pros & Cons of Sebamed Baby Product

Pros

  • Reassurance on the box, bottle and leaflet that the Sebamed products are safe and mild enough for the most delicate skin
  • Aesthetically appealing packaging
  • Bottles are easy to open and dispense product
  • From birth and for mothers as well.
  • Even when it gets into babies’ eyes, it doesn’t irritate or cause tears.

Cons

  • Little to no fragrance, but then again this is what you would expect from a medicated product
  • Usually, more product is needed than is indicated. It doesn’t travel very far.
  • pricier than comparable products, especially given that they frequently profit from Mother & Baby events. Although you pay more for quality, I personally would be willing to pay more to guarantee that my baby’s skin was protected.

Our Experience in the Sebamed Baby Products Review

Sebamed Baby Products Review 2023 - Is It Worth It

First, we used the Sebamed bubble bath because my child adores bubbles. Apply a few drops as directed since the instructions say to use sparingly. I noticed right away that more squirts of liquid were needed rather than drops because we no longer use a baby bath support and the family bath only has a few inches of water.

There weren’t many bubbles even after frothing the water to encourage more.

I can say without a doubt that the Sebamed Bubble bath is a no tear formula because my young son splashes around and gets so excited in the bath. He didn’t mind the taste either, as some went in his mouth whilst he was chewing on his rubber duck! Our 200ml bottle of bubble bath is nearly empty after two weeks of use, but we would definitely use it again.

My son’s hair dried with a soft texture and a fresh scent thanks to the Baby Sebamed Shampoo, which lathered up beautifully. It had a good consistency to rub into his hair—it wasn’t too thick or runny like some other products we’ve used. As is usually the case, the product accidentally got into his eyes while we were washing it off, but he showed no signs of irritation or discomfort at all.

Another product that had a good consistency and wasn’t too runny was Sebamed baby wash. When a generous amount was applied, it lathered up nicely and again, there were no tears. There isn’t much fragrance, but this is to be expected from a medicated, non-irritating wash. In my amateur opinion, I’m confident that all of the fragrances and additives are some of the ingredients that may cause irritation, especially for babies with sensitive skin.

The Sebamed baby cream lotion is lovely; it has little fragrance once more but feels very light on the skin. It absorbs well and leaves the skin feeling nice and silky and supple rather than leaving behind a greasy texture.

Unfortunately for this review but fortunately for my son, we were unable to use the diaper rash cream to treat nappy rash. The baby cream from Semabed however is a nice consistency and application is easy. Additionally, it does easily absorb into the skin.

Conclusion

Because Sebamed is a little drying in cooler temperatures, I would advise using it alone in the summer. It seems to work better for me and can be used on its own during the summer’s heat and humidity, when my face is extra oily. Its multitasking abilities have the added benefit of making it easier to pack for travel, especially to warm tropical locations. For the drier fall and winter months, using the moisturizers with the wash is a must.
